Snowpack Observations

Details

Rain fell up to 7,500ft during the last storm. The height of new snow was variable ranging from 4-8 inches between 7,500-12,000ft. No significant signs of unstable snow were observed in Avalanche Gulch or in the Old Ski Bowl. Northwest winds were seen transporting snow at 9,000ft and above and loading southeast slopes.

Light rain and snow fell throughout the day below 7,500ft. Very light and intermittent snow fell above 8,000ft. Visibility was poor above treeline until late morning. Skies cleared in the afternoon. Winds were moderate with strong gusts out of the northwest.
