General Conditions

It's still possible to ski from the first trail junction out of Bunny, up through the Gulch, on snow.  There are definitely more rocks starting to show near and just above treeline.  Surface conditions are variable.  On northerly aspects the couple inches from last week is still soft, but you can feel the crust underneath.  Above 8500' it's mostly windboard, sastrugi, and icy crust.  Sunday 11/21 was the warmest and calmest day of the week, but by 12:30 pm the snow surface wasn't softening much.  The solar input is dwindling this time of year, so if skiing expect a firm surface and bring your ski-pons.  Lots of icefall down The Heart and towards Lake Helen once the sun hits the Red Banks. Heads up!
