Clear Creek Route Conditions
The Clear Creek route is the standard late season route up Mount Shasta. Click here for general route information. There is some lingering snow above 12,000' from precipitation during last weekend, but this should mostly melt in the coming days. There is still older, consolidated snow on the final pitch to the summit, but there is a well-worn boot pack here and the walking is relatively easy. Most people are getting by just fine without ice axes, crampons, or microspikes. Trekking poles are useful. The springs are running. Please stay off of fragile alpine vegetation, especially around the springs.
