South Side Conditions Update

Climbing condition continues to be good in Avalanche Gulch this weekend. Low winds and mostly clear skies made for enjoyable climbing. The bergschrund of the Konwakiton Glacier is separating from the backside of the Thumb. It is currently passable. As the season progresses climbers will need to use the Red Bank Shoots. The concern of rockfall is increasing this time of year. Rockfall was minimal on this trip. However, be aware; as the snow and ice melt, rock fall will increase. Always wear a helmet.
