South Side Conditions Update
General Conditions on Jul 21, 2019
Below are a few pictures of the Avalanche Gulch route this past weekend (07.21.2019). The concern of rockfall is increasing. Loose rock has begun to melt out in many areas including above the Red Banks. Do not knock off loose rock on climbers below. Be aware; as the snow and ice melt, rock fall will increase. Always wear a helmet.
The ever-widening Konwakiton bergschrund around the right end of the Red Banks near the Thumb. Note: The Red Banks chutes are more favorable as this avoids the dangerous crevasse features of the Konwakiton. PLEASE do not through trash in the cravasse!
