Travel is not advised in Avalanche Gulch at this time. There are sparse patches of snow above 10,000 feet. The climbing between these narrow strips is akin to walking in kitty litter. One step forward, two steps back. Additionally, rockfall is active below the Red Banks. Several events were witnessed while at Lake Helen. The culmination of these factors is why we advise against climbing in Avalanche Gulch.
