Recent Observations:
In the past 24 hours, we've received no new snow. Temperatures have averaged 40° F, with a low of 35° and high of 42°. Wind has blown predominantly out of the NE, averaging 21 mi/hr with gusts to 67 mi/hr. Red flags of avalanche danger have been hard to come by, and no new reports of avalanches have come in since Monday, January 23rd. The snowpack across the forecast area is wind hammered, and boy was it a big hammer. Soft snow can still be found below treeline in select areas, maybe. Yesterday was sunny but cool, with windy conditions over exposed terrain above treeline. We're in a holding pattern until more snow arrives. The height of snow measures about 13 feet at 7,800 feet on the mountain.

Mountain Weather:
Dry weather and clear skies continue. The north wind will be mostly calm below treeline and light to moderate near and above treeline. Wind speeds will increase tomorrow morning. High temperatures at 7,000 feet are going to linger in the low 40°s for the next couple of days. A cold front approaches Friday evening. This weekend, daytime highs will be in the low 20°s, with the coldest day on Sunday.
