Casaval Ridge is in poor shape now. The best conditions have passed for the season. While this route is not technically difficult, Casaval Ridge presents its difficulty by providing exposure to long slips and falls along much of the upper ridge line. It is recommended that one has strong self-arrest skills, route finding, and solid mountaineering judgement! We recommend waiting until next year to climb. If you still choose to climb, the ridge proper is melted out, though one can find snow on the west and east sides of the ridge, providing for hours of off camber climbing.
