Details

Castle Lake has a marginally useful snowpack. Left Peak (north facing) and Middle Peak hold the most snow.

Height of snow near Heart Lake was 110 cm (43 in). Snow from last week's storm averages about 5 inches and is moist to wet. Overall the surface snow, where it exists, is smooth.

Wet-loose point releases and large rollerballs could be triggered on steep slopes.

Trail to Heart Lake is mostly covered in snow and is firm enough to walk on without snowshoes. Lake is frozen but not trustworthy for travel.
