20190104 - 1300 hours - Sorenson - Old Ski Bowl - Below, Near and Above Treeline
SKY: Broken, foggy, low visibility, flat light at times - clear in the morning and around 1:30 pm 
PRECIP: None
BLOWING SNOW: No, however snow transport was observed on higher elevation ridgelines during morning hours
Air Temp:   24 deg F - 8,000 feet
Wind: Calm to light winds out of the west
Red Flags: No obvious signs of instability
NOTES: 
Below treeline:
  • The new snow accumulation starts at 4,900 feet
  • HN24 : 4 inches (10 cm)
  • A few inches of dry unconsolidated snow sits atop melt freeze crust
Near treeline:
  • 2 to 3 inches (8-10 cm) of poorly bonded, low density snow exists on top of the 12/19 ice crust
  • Small drifts 8 to 10 inches deep
  • HS: 39 inches (100 cm) 8,300 feet
Above treeline:
  • Icy patches in exposed areas
  • Small, soft wind slabs 
  • Striated wind textured snow
