Snowpack Observations

Details

No avalanches, shooting cracks, or collapses were observed.  The snowpack above 7800t remained dry, and was not affected by the 01/08 rain event.  Wet/moist snow did fall above this elevation yesterday, and a supportable 6cm melt-freeze crust now exists.  Rain on snow occurred 7800ft and below, and the top 30cm at least remains moist.  The height of new snow since 01/06 measured at 8200ft was 51cm at noon today.  Snow fell at a rate of 1cm an hour or less between 10am and 2pm above bunny flat today.
