Sunny and Chilly in Old Ski Bowl

• Temperatures remained below freezing with little to no warming of snow surfaces from solar input
• At 1330 moderate winds with strong gusts began from the east. Snow transport was observed near and above treeline   
• Snow surfaces near treeline consisted of sun crust and wind packed powder with softer snow hidden in protected shady areas.  On the upper mountain, conditions were firm, slick, and hard, making the purchase for a snowmobile difficult  
• Snow features like sastrugi and wind lips are becoming less pronounced  
• No signs of avalanches or unstable snow were observed
